So ‘Open To The Universe, Closed To The World’ is now out and free to download for the first week, my next project is Hardcore Choice 2012, a selection of hardcore tunes I’ve been listening to this year (not necessarily released this year).

So the tracks are in their final state now, track order for the album is sorted. I’ve chosen the song to be the single and the video will be out soon. All that’s left is to make some promo’ pic’s and get them up on Facebook, after that I’ll be chosing a release date and moving on to Hardcore Choice 2012, a compilation of other artists hard tracks, mixed by me!

I’ve got 20 tracks ready for “Open To The Universe, Closed To The World” and I’ll be giving them the final check through tonight and tomorrow, just making sure they’re the best I can get them. Then I’ll be working on the pre-release stuff like images and a video for the single, possibly more things like sneak peeks but I dunno yet.

Been working on the hardcore/hardstyle/jumpstyle stuff this week, went over ten tracks I have already and now I’m alterations to those, got rid of one because I wasn’t happy with it, just need to give them another listen later and move on to the next ten and then do the same again!

Anyone want to make me an album cover? It’s for my forthcoming Hardcore/Hardstyle/Jumpstyle album under my DJ Deathrat alias. I’d love to pay for it but I have no monies =(, so if anyone’s willing to do an album cover for free it’d be much appreciated, just let me know and send me a copy to Irwin109@hotmail.co.uk. And think about it, although it may be for free, it’ll be another outlet for your art! Just leave your signature or URL, or both on the picture. I haven’t got an album title yet but I’m just after the picture, I’ve got just enough Photoshop skills to put writing over it!

So the GrimDeath project is getting even closer to completion. After listening through all 15 tracks a few of them were removed as I wasn’t happy with them and since then I’ve been working to replace them with something better, which I think has now been achieved, I’ll be doing another check through tonight and then after that they’re getting sent off to have the rap put over them, can’t wait!

As for the other projects I’m still working on them all, the hardcore/hardstyle/jumstyle album will be the next main focus and it’s one that’s going to be really tough for me because I haven’t done a purely hardcore album since Harder And Harder Shed Constructor, I mean Deathblast had a lot of hardcore tracks but not all of the album, so not having done a full album for so long plus having new techniques to throw in there, it’s going to be a bit chaotic at first, but hopefully the end result will be good!

Almost finished laying down all 15 tracks for the GrimDeath project, once I’ve made #15 I’ll go through them all again, delete and change any I need to then add some (if any get deleted) then render them all as MP3s and send them over to my friend so he can start thinking of lyrics to put over them!

So “The Show” is now out and available for free - HERE

My next project I’m working on is a hardcore/hardstyle/jumpstyle/happy hardcore album, so that’s gonna be some great fun, I’m also working on a project laying down some beats for some friends to rap over, can’t wait to see how that turns out!

So I’m gonna be busy for a while, which is what I like.

So I’ve found a new way to bring out my kicks so I’ll be implementing that across all the stuff I’m working on at the moment.

Getting a track played on the local internet radio too, you can listen to that anywhere around the world (the beauty of the internet) on CanDoFM.com. That’ll be played somewhere between 9am and 11am GMT. Can’t wait. Moving onwards and upwards as always!

So, I’m working on several projects at the moment.

There’s theGrimDeathcollaboration between myself and ‘Ben Grim’. I’m throwing down the tracks and Ben is going to rap over the top, can’t wait to see how that turns out, some real sub woofer testers in amongst those tracks.

Then there’s theHardcore AlbumI’m working on only really started on that but working on making it heavier than previous hardcore tunes I’ve made.

There’s also theMixtapethat’ll be the next release, quite far through that now, really enjoying the ‘chilling’ sound I’ve got out of that.

And finally there’s anotherAlbumI’m working on that’s my usual assorted dance, which I’ve also just begun work on.

So four sets of stuff and there’ll still be more than that before the year is through! Can’t wait to see what people think!

So I’ve finished work on Superfamily Muroidea and I’ve started working on my next mix. For that mix I’m trying a more ‘house trance’ style, like John Digweed.

Superfamily Muroidea is my best work yet but as always I can still see room for improvement. I think my next album is going to be more toward the ‘hardcore’ side of things, I feel I’ve only touched it slightly this year so I need to dedicate an album to it to make up for it and that’ll be out later in the year.

So for my 9th (I’m still shocked it’s that many) release “Superfamily Muroidea” I took a lot of time researching better and interesting ways of making my music, from blogs to tutorials on YouTube.

I think they are finally getting close to being what I would call ‘good’. I mean when I go through my older material now I can tell what it’s lacking a lot easier than I could, and now that I’ve learnt some tips and tricks the overall quality of the tracks has improved too.

A lot of the songs have reached their final form and have names now, there’s still a few I need to mess around with a bit more and I still know there’s a lot more I have to learn which means future tracks will sound even better.

I’ve also been a lot more critical of my own work, deleting songs I’ve nearly finished because at the end I’ve not liked the track and rather than trying to reshape it like I would have normally I’ve just noted the things I like about the track and thrown them into a fresh one.

I’ll be changing the preview songs again soon and I’m even thinking of giving away a copy (via e-mail or something) pre-release in some form of free prize draw, if people are interested enough.

So, the new album I’ve been working on is coming along nicely, 19 rough tracks after my first sort through, just need to polish them up a bit and make another 2 or 3. I’ll keep changing the preview tracks every now and again, I think I’ll do this in future, rather than keep adding preview tracks until the album is out, I’m just going to stick 2 up at a time. Back to work!
